Euthanasia Services

A compassionate procedure for cats and dogs suffering from chronic pain or terminal illness.

As pet owners ourselves, we understand the heartbreaking moment when you decide it is time to say goodbye to your furry family member. Although we cannot take away the pain you are feeling, we can provide you with all the support you need so the experience is as hassle-free as possible. When you are ready to have that conversation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 905-885-8151. During a one-on-one consultation, one of our veterinarians will assess if this is a viable option for your pet.

When should I consider euthanasia for my pet?

When pets have a chronic disease or chronic pain that can no longer be managed with treatments, euthanasia is the most humane option for them. This is also true if they can no longer eat, move or carry out bodily functions (e.g. breathing, urinating) without intense medical intervention.

Is euthanasia painful for pets?

Not at all. We guarantee a peaceful way for your pet to cross the rainbow bridge. The entire process is 100% comfortable for them and takes only a few minutes to complete. Once the drug is administered, your pet will fall asleep. Then the anesthetics will kick in for a numbing effect. After that, their organs will begin to fail until there is no more heartbeat or brain activity detected. You can be by your pet’s side all throughout the procedure. You can also bring your pet’s favourite toys or blanket to give them extra comfort.

Where do euthanized pets go?

You have the option to have your pet cremated or buried. Some pet parents even opt for taxidermy, so they will always have a visible token of their pet’s life. We will discuss with you all of this in detail during your consultation.
